MY STORY

How did I get here? I can easily say by no other means than being extremely blessed. It is incredible that I get to pursue work that I profoundly love and enjoy. If you watched the video on my homepage, you would see that I’ve had the desire to have a camera in my hand since I was an itsy bitsy little thing. After finally treating myself to my own camera on my 14th birthday, I spent a considerable amount of time practicing photography and videography. In high school, I thought it would be nice to actually sign up for a class that could teach me film production; however, they put me in a graphic design class instead. I was bummed, but realized that I was actually pretty good at it. As a result, I forgot about the camera and started to pursue design….and now, I have a BA in Graphic Design. The two years that I forgot about the camera were sad but telling. A job opened up at George Fox University to be the Sports Marketing videographer. Without second thought, I decided to pursue it and the video I made for my interview was the first I had made since high school. In that moment, I realized how deeply I missed videography and understood my passion for creating and storytelling. That realization was hugely important for me, because my creativity stemmed out of my deepest passion: to hear other people’s stories. We live in a culture stuck on the surface. Most people don’t have time anymore to genuinely listen. Thus, my mission is for others to first understand how beautiful and important their story is and second, to articulate their story as authentically as I can. It is truly an honor to bring your story to life through my talent whether that’s through design, videography, or photography.

OOH, SOME FUN FACTS

  1. It is extremely rare to find me without my green hydroflask.

  2. I didn’t start speaking until I was 2 years old. However, when I did, I knew all of my ABC’s and 123’s. This makes a lot of sense once you get to know me.

  3. I regret to say that I grew up a picky eater. Still, to this day, people are shocked if I order anything different than chicken and water.

  4. This is my favorite number. Forever and always. Except, I prefer the open 4 instead of the triangle 4.

  5. If we are fortunate enough to meet some day, ask me the story of my grandma. It will mean the world to me.
